Can You Change the World?
Do you value who you are? Have you plumbed the depths of your being to truly know who lives within you?
Mary Dunbar said, “We are each gifted in a unique and important way. It is our privilege and our adventure to discover our own special light.” But many of us fear looking within ourselves to find out who we really are. Thus, we see only what we show to the world, and we never come to truly love ourselves for who we are.
Can you see your own light? You have something special to offer the world, something only you can offer. You are a special channel of Divine love, and one of your lessons in this incarnation is learning how to allow it to flow through you to all you meet.
But before you can see your own light, you have to explore who you are, learn to love yourself with all of your imperfections (and we all have imperfections), and learn to accept yourself just as you are, knowing that you can change and grow.
According to author Margo Anand, “Loving yourself…does not mean being self-absorbed or narcissistic, or disregarding others. Rather it means welcoming yourself as the most honored guest in your own heart, a guest worthy of respect, a lovable companion.”
Open your heart to this Divine love. Let it bathe you in its radiance, soothe your fears, and heal your insecurities. Let it permeate every cell of your body, filling you to the core of your being. Let it show you the beautiful person you are so that you may claim your beauty, love yourself, and learn to extend love to all you encounter.
Divine love is your birthright. Being a channel of Divine love is your calling. Only when you learn to love yourself can you be free to truly love others.
Most of us go through life searching for love. We look to others for love, validation, and a sense of our own worth. But others can never give us what we need to fill up the holes within us. We need to do that for ourselves. We can learn to see the light and love within us and let it flow forth into the world, forever changing all we encounter.
May the God of love add a blessing to these humble words.
