Enriching Our Lives

“What have you done for me lately, God” is what a lot of us want to know. Many people are so busy looking for miracles and waiting for their requests of God to be answered that they fail to see the many blessings God strews in our pathways daily.

Sri Harold Klemp says, “If we want to keep the blessings of life coming to us, we must learn to be grateful for whatever is given.” It is important to adopt an Attitude of Gratitude, for even the problems that find us are blessings in disguise.

Problems bring us lessons to learn, open our eyes to new realities, and test our abilities, causing us to grow beyond our limitations. When we can learn to be grateful for not only the positive blessings, but also the problems, we will find we are living in a higher form of joy than we have ever known.

We can even increase the blessings that come our way by offering blessings to others. Each day do something special for another person without thought of a “thank you” or a reward.

The ‘something special’ can be as simple as smiling at someone you don’t know. A smile does many things for someone else. It acknowledges their existence. It offers warmth, conveys acceptance, and is welcoming.

We can also increase the blessings we receive by realizing that God sends them our way just because God loves us. We do not have to earn them, nor do we have to deserve them. We only have to acknowledge them and be grateful for them for them to enrich our lives.

May the God of love add a blessing to these humble words.
